New England Motor Freight has announced that current Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Thomas Connery has been promoted to President of the New Jersey based transportation and logistics company. Connery joined the company in 2006 as Executive Vice President and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2007. Prior to joining NEMF, Connery spent 11 years with Con-way Transportation in a variety of roles.
According to company founder and Chairman Myron “Mike” Shevell, “Tom and his management team led the company through some very difficult years following the recession of 2008 and he is very deserving of this opportunity. I’m confident that he will continue to lead the company to a period of sustainable growth and prosperity. ”
Tom is a member of the NJ Motor Truck Association and the Association for Corporate Growth, NJ Chapter. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the International Association of Machinists National Pension Plan.
