NEMF Honored With OHL “Carrier of the Year” Award

New England Motor Freight (NEMF) is proud to announce that they have been chosen as the Ozburn-Hessey Logistics / OHL 2015 Northeast Regional Carrier of the Year. Each year OHL honors a top trucking service provider for exemplary work in dedicated trucking, expediting freight and logistics and planning services. There were many criteria considered in the award selection, but in particular NEMF was noted for superior: On time service deliveries, Customer service knowledge and client assistance levels, Easy to use software and communication channels and Percentage of loads tendered (offered) accepted.

NEMF Welcomes Matt Bowman Account Executive in Erie

New England Motor Freight (NEMF) is pleased to announce that Matt Bowman has joined NEMF as Account Executive at the Erie Terminal, 2550 South Work Street, Falconer, NY.

Matt most recently worked for SUNY Fredonia for 3 years. He received his Bachelor Degree in Sport Management at SUNY Fredonia and an Associate Degree in Social Sciences at Corning Community College.

Matt resides in Jamestown, NY and is active in his community volunteering for Habitat for Humanity in Silver Creek, Salvation Army in Fredonia and Dunkirk Public Schools.

NEMF Opens Fifth Driver Training School in Columbus, OH

New England Motor Freight (NEMF) is pleased to announce the opening of an additional driver training school at their NEMF terminal in Columbus, OH. The school, which opened on May 4th, covers drivers in the Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Toledo and Chicago areas. The first class of eight graduates will finish their training on July 10th.

The new Columbus location gives NEMF its fifth training school location; NEMF also has locations in Lehighton, PA; Meriden, CT and two schools in the Harrisburg, PA area. The first NEMF driver training schools were opened in 2004. All training locations are under the control of our Corporate Safety Department.

NEMF and Eastern Freightways Honors 2014 Award Recipients

The company is proud to announce its 2014 Annual Award winners. The following is the list of outstanding workers who were recognized from the Shevell Group of Companies.

Harry Smith has been honored as the 2014 winner of the Arlene Shevell Award. This award is given annually to the worker who exemplifies the highest level of dedication and contribution within the Shevell Group. Harry joined the company in 2006 as manager of pricing after a long career at APA Transport. Harry’s responsibilities include pricing review, managing and maintaining the company’s costing software and providing analysis on bids and spot pricing. For those that know Harry, it’s not unusual to see an e-mail from him on any given day before 5 a.m. and after 5p.m. You’ll also find him behind his desk on any given weekend in an effort to stay current with his work. It’s this type of dedication and effort that makes Harry the ideal candidate for this recognition.

John McKenna Promoted to Director of Operations

NEMF is pleased to announce the promotion of John McKenna to the position of Director of Operations for New England Motor Freight.

John began his trucking career at Carolina Freight working as an inbound supervisor and Operations Manager. He left there to become a terminal manager at BSP Transport in 1995. He joined NEMF in May of 2000 as the terminal manager in North Reading and worked in that role until September of 2002 when he was elevated to his current position of Regional Operations Manager for the New England Region.
