John R. Karlberg

John R. Karlberg sits on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of New England Motor Freight, Inc. (NEMF). Mr. Karlberg was formerly President & Chief Operating Officer of NEMF from 1989 to 2006.

Mr. Karlberg joined NEMF in 1989 after two years as president of P.A.M. Transport of Tontitown, AR. From 1980 to 1987, he was president of Jones Truck Lines of Springdale, AR.

Mr. Karlberg began his career in the trucking industry in 1964 with Roadway, as Terminal Manager in Boston. He was first associated with NEMF Chairman Myron P. "Mike" Shevell when he moved to Eastern Freight Ways / Associated Transport in 1972 as Vice President of Operations. He then joined Airco in 1976 as International Vice President of Distribution, where he was responsible for distribution of industrial gas products. He left Airco to assume the Presidency of Jones Truck Lines in 1980.

Mr. Karlberg is a former vice president of the Regulated Common Carrier Conference of the American Trucking Association, former member of the Board of Directors of the Middle West Rate Bureau, and former member of the Board of Directors of the Chair of Transportation at the University of Arkansas, where he also served as adjunct faculty.

Mr. Karlberg holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Columbia University and an M.B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Mr. Karlberg and his wife, Anne, have retired to Palm Coast (FL) and Pocono Pines (PA). They have three grown daughters.
