June 21, 2007

Robert Rambone of Keansburg (NJ) has been promoted to vice president of maintenance at The Shevell Group of transportation companies. He will oversee equipment maintenance, equipment purchasing and related functions for all the companies in the Shevell Group.

"This appointment demonstrates our commitment to keep our fleet in the best possible working condition," said NEMF Executive Vice President Tom Connery. "Bob's experience and knowledge of our companies ensure that we will maintain our trucks to a very high standard."

Rambone began his career with the Shevell Group's less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier, NEMF, in 1989 as maintenance manager. In 1998, he was promoted to director of maintenance. Prior to joining NEMF, Rambone spent 10 years as a diesel mechanic at Carretta Trucking and two years as maintenance manager at Metropolitan Trucking. Rambone and his wife, Fran, have three sons: Joey, Bobby and Michael.

The privately-held Shevell Group of Companies provides a broad array of transportation-related services. Companies in The Shevell Group include NEMF (New England Motor Freight, less-than truckload carrier), Carrier Industries (third-party logistics, dedicated fleet, warehousing), Eastern Freight Ways (asset based truckload carrier), Apex Logistics (brokerage, nationwide truckload) and NEMF World Transport (non-vessel operating common carrier).
