NEMF Honored with CaseStack 2010 Green Carrier Award
NEMF Acknowledged for Superior Emphasis on Sustainable Logistics

Elizabeth, NJ, October 2010 - NEMF (New England Motor Freight) was named a CaseStack 2010 Green Carrier Award winner for its efforts toward promoting sustainable logistics practices, officials announced today.

The awards program recognizes carriers and customers for implementing sustainable transportation methods. The program, which began in 2008, is designed as a two-prong effort. The Green Carrier Award honors CaseStack carriers for employing sustainability best practices, and runs in tandem with the Delivered Green Award that recognizes CaseStack's transportation and logistics customers.

The Green Carrier Award acknowledges carriers who implement energy efficient supply chain management practices in their daily operations by listing them on the Green Carrier Matrix, a listing of CaseStack's most sustainable carrier partners. Carriers are selected based upon their adoption of "green" practices, including engine, tire and body modifications, the use of alternative fuels and government and industry certifications like the U.S. EPA's SmartWay℠ Transport Partnership. Those who qualify are placed on the matrix and touted as a resource for CaseStack customers looking to reduce their carbon footprint.

To qualify for the Delivered Green award, customers must ship more than 40 percent of their orders in a given calendar year using carriers listed on the Green Carrier Matrix. Sixteen of this year's Delivered Green winners also won in 2009, and all of them operate in the food and beverage, household cleaning and general merchandise categories.

"We are extremely proud of our 2010 winners because they are at the forefront of efficient and sustainable transportation," said Dan Sanker, president and CEO of CaseStack. "Just as CaseStack recognizes the tremendous benefits of providing cost-saving logistics programs with environmental aims, our customers and carriers deserve to be recognized for seeking out ways to improve efficiency while creating the least environmental impact."
