Shevell Group honors its best of the best employees for 2009 (January 2010)

The Shevell Group is proud to announce its 2009 award winners. The following is the list of outstanding employees who were recognized from the six companies that form the Shevell Group:

Jessie Mabasa has been honored as the 2009 winner of the Arlene Shevell award. This award is given annually to the worker who exemplifies the highest level of dedication within the Shevell Group. Jessie started with NEMF in November 2002 as an Executive Assistant. Since joining the Shevell team, she has quickly proved a vital part of the workings of the Executive Offices.

NEMF is pleased to announce that George Marshall is the recipient of the 2009 National Accounts Sales Award. George has been employed with NEMF as National Account Executive based in Texas for the past 7 years. His area of responsibility is Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington.

Andrew Allis, Account Executive based out of the Meriden, CT terminal, has been recognized as the winner of the Jon Shevell Account Executive of the Year award for 2009. Andrew Allis worked with NEMF prior to rejoining the company in 2008. He made his mark in the late 90's accomplishing the company's second sales achievement, for "Most Improved" Account Executive. His dedication, strong work ethic and a true passion for the business have been the keys to his success.

Chris Iezzi of the Pittsburgh, PA Terminal has been named the recipient of the 2009 Paul Danzak Sales Award for most improved account executive. The award is presented annually to the account executive who achieves the greatest sales growth over the previous year. Chris joined NEMF in January of 2004 and through hard work and a strong positive attitude for NEMF has continually been a leader in the region in new business.

The NEMF Columbus, OH terminal (located at 1700 Georgesville Road, Columbus, OH) has been named Terminal of the Year for 2009. In determining the award, NEMF measures each terminal's performance in a variety of areas. Judging criteria include safety, customer service, revenue growth and profit improvement over the prior year. The Columbus terminal is truly deserving of this recognition as each team member has made a significant and positive impact in all areas of customer interaction.

The 2009 recipient of the Mark Jensen Award is Bobby Taraska. Bobby joined NEMF in March 1986 as a Microfilm Clerk and has been involved with the costing department for almost 25 years. His dedication and loyalty is admired by all who know him. Congratulations Bobby for a job well done.

The Newburgh, NY terminal (located at 194 Neelytown Road, Montgomery, NY) has been named Service Terminal of the Year for 2009. Newburgh led NEMF with a 99.3% on-time service record for the year.

Eastern Freight Ways is pleased to announce that Tom Allen has been named the Most Valuable Player for 2009. Tom joined the Eastern team in 2000 as a driver manager. In late 2008, he took over the role of capacity manager and in 2009 lead Eastern to one of its best operational performances in recent years. Tom's ability to plan and coordinate the Eastern driver work force helped to provide excellent service to our customers. Raising the level of service and driving down cost through increased efficiencies, Tom helped Eastern to grow its revenue by almost 8% in a very difficult economic climate.
