NEMF'S HAGERSTOWN FACILITY IS TERMINAL OF THE
YEAR
February 7, 2007
The NEMF Hagerstown terminal (located at 14557
Industry Drive) was named Terminal of the Year at the regional motor carrier's
annual dinner.
The Hagerstown terminal earned very high marks in
2006, increasing its revenue and improving both its operating ratio and on-time
delivery service rate.
In determining the award, NEMF measures each
terminal's performance in a variety of areas. Judging criteria include safety,
customer service, revenue growth and profit improvement over the prior year.
Terminal Manager Tom Hartley, III, of Harrisburg, PA, who served as terminal
manager from 2003 until 2006, accepted the award on behalf of the Hagerstown
terminal's 75 employees. The 35-door facility is the base for 20 daily routes.
"The Hagerstown terminal's performance
during 2006 is a tribute of type of people who work here: They strive to be the
best they can in every phase of the operation. It got to the point where we were
competing with ourselves to be better than we were the previous day or
month," said Hartley, who has since been promoted to manager of quality and
corporate compliance.
Based in Elizabeth, NJ, family-owned
less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier NEMF (www.nemf.com) serves its customers from
terminals throughout the Northeast and Midwest, as well as Florida, Puerto Rico
and Canada. It is the largest LTL carrier in the Northeast region. NEMF is a
member of The Shevell Group of Companies (www.ShevellGroup.com), which also
