Transplace names NEMF "Best Regional Fleet"

Transplace, a leading provider of transportation management services and logistics technology solutions awarded New England Motor Freight (NEMF) with the "Best Regional Fleet" Award in the LTL Division.

Transplace Senior Vice President Steve Robinson and General Manager of Capacity Service Brandon Hamilton presented National Account Executive, George Marshall, with the award at the Annual Shipper Symposium in Phoenix. At the event, three TL carriers and two LTL carriers were awarded for their service performance under the 2009 Transplace Carrier Merit Program.

The Transplace Carrier Merit Program categorizes carriers into tiers based on strict and demanding performance factors. The company has established two primary tiers of alliance carriers and a developmental progression plan for key carriers targeting business needs and upward movement through the merit program. The awards are data-centric and based on companywide, quantitative data for each award selection.

Based in Elizabeth, NJ, family-owned less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier NEMF serves its customers from terminals throughout the Northeast and Midwest, as well as Puerto Rico and Canada. It is the largest LTL carrier in the Northeast region. NEMF is a member of The Shevell Group of Companies (www.ShevellGroup.com), which also includes Carrier Industries (third-party logistics, dedicated fleet, warehousing), Eastern Freight Ways (asset-based truckload carrier), Apex Logistics (brokerage, nationwide truckload) and NEMF World Transport (non-vessel operating common carrier).
